Senior Services
Senior Services, a nonprofit agency in Seattle, maintains a website with information on adult day health programs, Meals on Wheels, transportation resources, and other assistance available to seniors.
Medicare
Medicare’s website allows you to view inspection data on every certified nursing home in the United States, as well as comprehensive performance data collected on agencies that provide in-home health care. It also contains information on Medicare enrollment, billing, and appeals.
The Washington Legislature
The Washington Legislature website contains both the Revised Code of Washington and the Washington Administrative Code; both may be searched for specific statutes or regulations using key words.
Internal Revenue Service
The IRS website contains information on recent tax law changes and answers to frequently asked questions about income, gift, and estate taxes. Most tax forms and publications may be printed for free.
King County Assessor
The King County Assessor’s office website has information on property tax exemptions available to seniors and the disabled.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, formerly the Health Care Financing Administration, has a website full of information about both Medicare and Medicaid.
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services administers the Medicaid program in Washington State. The DSHS website contains information on the various programs they offer.
Aging and Disability Services Administration of DSHS
The website for the Aging and Disability Services Administration of DSHS has information regarding such issues as in-home care options, assisted living, Medicaid, and preventing or reporting elder abuse.
Washington State Attorney General’s Office
The Washington State Attorney General’s Office has web pages with information on protecting seniors from fraud; preparing for death (information on organ donation and general estate planning) and what to do once a death occurs (including information on your legal rights when making funeral arrangements, and advice on handling immediate financial concerns in the wake of a loved one’s death).

The Social Security Handbook contains a wealth of information about Social Security Benefits.
