John S. Palmer – Attorney-at-Law

John S. Palmer – Attorney-at-Law John has over 17 years experience as a practicing attorney in Washington State. Over the years, John has assisted hundreds of clients with a wide range of legal issues. He has extensive experience drafting Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, and other estate planning documents. He has represented parties in contested probate and guardianship proceedings, and has provided legal advice and representation to fiduciaries, such as guardians and attorneys-in-fact managing the affairs of another pursuant to a Durable Power of Attorney. He has helped numerous clients obtain government benefits to pay for the long term care, and formerly served as a Guardian ad Litem in guardianship matters in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. He also has experience as a Settlement Guardian ad Litem in cases involving the settlement of claims of minors and incapacitated persons.

John is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; the Guardianship and Elder Law Section of the King County Bar Association; the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Washington State Bar Association, and is a past Secretary of the WSBA Elder Law Section.

John received his law degree in 1990 from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH. After passing the Washington State bar exam in the summer of 1990, he returned to New Hampshire to complete a one year clerkship with the New Hampshire Superior Court, the major trial-level court for the state. Upon moving to Washington in 1991, John worked as an associate attorney for a Seattle civil litigation firm, and established his own law practice when the firm dissolved in 1993.

Ranee Kakaria – Paralegal/Legal Assistant Ranee has been with us for two years. She enjoys helping people, has a good sense of humor and takes great pleasure in interacting with clients. We feel that Ranee is an asset to our firm with over ten years of experience as a Paralegal and Legal Assistant. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Paralegal Certificate, and has worked in a wide variety of fields, including estate planning and elder law, litigation, personal injury, employment law and insurance subrogation.
